World IBD Day takes place on the 19 May every year and unites people from around the world in their fight against Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis, known as inflammatory bowel diseases (IBD). Worldwide millions of people suffer from these kind of chronic bowel diseases.
World IBD Day is led by patient organisations representing over 50 countries on five continents and is coordinated by the European Federation of Crohn’s & Ulcerative Colitis Association (EFCCA) with this year's theme "IBD has no age".
People living with Inflammatory Bowel Disease speak about the crucial role of doctors and nurses
Every year, Tillotts supports local initiatives, events and activities to raise awareness on IBD and its impact on patient quality of life. This year, Tillotts wants to bring awareness to the role that nurses and doctors play in IBD patient care.
Doctors and nurses are the first point of contact for patients and they play a crucial role, not only for diagnosis but also for empowering people with IBD to take control of their disease. As a result, patients feel less burdened and isolated and are more likely to live a normal life.
At Tillotts, we recognise the significant and meaningful role that nurses and doctors play in helping IBD patients to take ownership of their disease. This is why, we asked people around the world to share their experiences with doctors and nurses for this year’s World IBD Day 2022. They recorded a thank you message to express their gratitude and appreciation. Listen to their inspiring stories about how #NursesDoctorsMakeaDifference in their lives: http://ibdday.tillotts.com.
